PORK SHOULDER ROAST

Roast has to be one of the simplest crockpot meals to make. I can't think of a time I made roast that didn't meet my expectations. I have been on this pepper kick lately. Trying to learn more about the different flavors and combinations. I've noticed that peppers, rather hot or sweet, add so much flavor to a meal! This recipe was made by combining different ingredients to make the perfect Sunday dinner. Trust me it is worth the try.

Ingredients:

Pork Shoulder Roast
Au Jus Seasoning Pack
Hidden Valley Ranch Pack
1/2 cup of Coca Cola
1/2 stick of butter
8 Mezettt's Sweet Cherry Pepper
2 tablespoons of pepper juice
Fresh Thyme

1. Flour both sides of Pork Shoulder Roast. Sear on medium-high skillet for 2 minutes per side.
2. Place seared meat in crockpot. Pour in Coca Cola around the sides.
3. Open and spread Ranch Dressing/Seasoning Pack on top of Pork Shoulder. Spread Au Jus Gravy pack on top of Ranch mixture.
4. Place eight sweet peppers around Pork Shoulder and add two tablespoons of sweet pepper juice.
5. On top of dry mixture, place a half of stick of butter. Then add fresh thyme.
6. Cook meat covered and uninterrupted for six hours.
7. Serve.

I served with roasted red potatoes and fresh green beans.  Admittedly, I am a french fry fanatic always looking for a way to have a "potato". This recipe came out so tender and juicy! What I did notice about this meal, that I would do different next time is try it with a different roast. While I didn't intend to get pork shoulder, I was not unhappy.

Until next time. Hope you enjoy.
