DIY KATE SPADE INSPIRED PARTY
10:46 AM
This past weekend our oldest celebrated her 13th birthday. We celebrated in style with a chic Kate Spade Inspired Pool Party. Aniyah picked out her own theme which was composed of black and white stripes, hot pink, polka dots, and gold. It was the perfect theme for a 13th pool party.
Scroll down for all the DIY accents including classic Kate Spade patterns, photo details, and desserts with tons of detail.
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS

- Glam chocolate cupcakes with pink sprinkles
- Chocolate covered pretzels and dipped Rice Krispies and marshmallows
- DIY Photobooth frame and welcome sign

- Kate Spade favor bags
INVITATIONS
I get so excited to send invitations. I believe that invitations set the tone for any party and allow your guests to get a peek for any event. These adorable DIY invitations were made from purchased blank invitations at Hobby Lobby. We were able to design and print the details ourselves. I love how they turned out!
DECOR
To add accents of color we had tons of cute decorations for added style. We had plenty of custom accents like the printable cupcake wrappers with an added "A", polka dot black, white and gold confetti circles, gold favor boxes with assembled "thirteen" cutouts, and printed quotes from Kate Spade.
Along with the decorations, we accented Kate Spade goodie bags for our guests. Each guest was also able to snag a pink and white drawstring bag and a cute mini polka dot favor box with a surprise inside. We wanted each guest to have after swimming pool accents like white Old Navy Flip flops and a Hershey cookies and cream chocolate bar wrapped in a chocolate bar wrap from ETSY.
Some of our party essentials like plates, cups, utensils, straws, and napkins were purchased from Hobby Lobby as well. I also dressed up this station with DIY confetti.
DESSERTS
Styling and small details will always be important. Whether it's in the home or small events, placement of details and accents make a big difference. I used the tabletop in the hotel to set up the dessert station. We even got some cute treats made by, Jolyn, a baker in our area. Jolyn created some tasty chocolate covered pretzels (that were gone before anything else), dipped marshmallows, and dazzeled rice krispy treats. The table was glammed with white and soft pink risers to display the gorgeous sweets created for her party. To complete the sweets, we stopped by our nearest Smallcakes Cupcakery to purchase some rich chocolate cupcakes embellished with edible glittered pink sprinkles.
DIY
I couldn't host a soiree without adding some DIY projects. For this birthday party there were numerous accents that were DIY, but my most favorite was the photobooth frame and welcome sign.
What I loved about this party was that Anyiah was apart of the planning. At first, I wanted everything (after she picked her theme) to be a surprise, but after some help, I realized this was a great opportunity for us to bond and me to get to know more about her style.
A big thank you to those who helped with styling and preparation for this party.
